Petty divisions

Here is an article from January on The Journey, my church... its methods of evangelism have been controversial in the Christian community.
Beer and the Bible

Here is a more recent article about an influential person in the denomination who has an opposing view:
Roger Moran

I believe that both sides in this issue love God and are sincere in their beliefs. The Journey elders are wonderful Christian leaders (http://journeyon.net/), and I'm sure Roger Moran is also a committed, passionate follower of Christ. But it hurts me that there is so much animosity within the Christian community over an issue that is not even a salvation issue. It is these petty divisions within the church the Enemy wants because it hurts our witness as Christians to the world. If the theology of the church is solid, then why is there so much fuss about holding outreach events at a bar?

Nate,

This is pretty cool if you ask me. it got me thinking about trying something like this here at the U of M...I was walking by the Library Bar today and envisioned students coming there to discuss God. How cool would that be?
